Hello folks. Thanks for your funny stories! I found out that certain things are Universal; people have to pick their nose when they stop at red lights; they have to pump up the volume and sing along! Here I am with my anecdotes (unfortunately, I can’t cover all the topics – I am quite busy): human behaviour at red lights seems to be the same all over the world, but there’s something no one mentioned: guys check their fly!! - Italian guys do that, trust me!!! – Actually, I think it’s a wise idea.
The weirdest pick up line I know is: “Vorrei essere una lacrima per nascere dai tuoi occhi, vivere sul tuo viso e morire sulle tue labbra”…Translation: “I’d like to be a tear, to be born in your eyes, live on your face and die on your lips”…I don’t mean to disappoint romantic people, but it sounds so creepy in Italian…and I guess that English makes no difference!!! The sad thing is: - It works all the time!!!- …sad thing?!?!?!?
Talking about swindles…I remember a movie by Totò (the greatest Italian comedian), where a poor guy sold the “Fontana di Trevi” to an American tourist. It wouldn’t be possible nowadays, but swindles are alive and kicking;
My favorite one takes place in High-Tech shops: one finds DVD players at low prices; people in the shop are very kind and describe all the features of the chosen item. When you say you’ll buy it…HEHEHE…here comes the magic moment…the man behind the counter will ask you if he can wrap up the box in elegant paper; your reply would be: yes, of course. This kind person will put the DVD player in a safe place and fill in the box with bricks. When you get home, you will only find bricks. …MMMHH…100 dollars for a couple of bricks…not a good deal!!
